A lemon tart made with Meyer lemons from the backyard here in California. Smelling, touching and seeing citrus trees is enchanting – one of favorite aspects of California living. My daughter and her grandpa made the crust from scratch – we used about 6 Meyer lemons – zest and juice. It was a gorgeous presentation at the end and another cooking experience for this 5 year old. I want to continue to teach her about the origins of whole, real food, and the satisfaction and art of cooking from scratch.
