Kale Chips

This is a beyond easy way to get in your kale. For me, this isn’t the easiest task. Kale doesn’t taste good to me without being pulverized with fruits in smoothies or juices or drowned and simmered in a beautiful soup, or sautéed with a sauce. This recipe does the trick to make kale tasty in a simple way and my daughter and husband absolutely love it!

Easy, Tasty, Healthy – with Zatar Spice

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch kale, rinsed, dried, leaves torn off into big bite-sized pieces
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 1 T zatar
  • 1 T cold pressed organic olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375F. Prepare a baking sheet by covering with a sheet of parchment paper.
  2. Place kale into a large mixing bowl and add salt and olive oil. Mix and toss until olive oil is coated uniformly over kale.
  3. Sprinkle zatar over kale and toss again.
  4. Transfer kale to baking sheet, separating leaves as best you can. Place in oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

Notes: Kale chips can become overdone and burned very easily – within a minute. It is best to check the kale at the midway point, and thereafter, every minute or so. When the tips of the leaves begin to brown, it is time to remove them from the oven.
