Most of the time I’m not thinking about it…but I am a role model for my daughters every minute of everyday. Being physically strong is up there on my list of must-haves. Apart from being incredibly fun, challenging your body with strength, mobility and cardio training for me leads to gains in every other aspect of my life performance. Academic research has shown strong connections between playing sports and increases in self-concept and motivation for leadership in girls. The more we get girls playing sports, the more we can close the gender gap in tech, politics, and other jobs of the future. My daughter is about to make some of my classic gymnastics tricks her introductory ones…and I CANNOT wait to see her proud of her continued practice and advancing skills that will form the foundation for what she believes she is capable of, and to what extent she’s willing to work hard to get what she wants out of life. Physical health begets mental health over and over and over. Rinse and repeat. Oh…and what the heck is my younger one doing???? 😮
